You may know or not there is a new team behind te BWFA auction. This reflected in an exciting catalogue emphasizing quality over quantity as well as future prospect. First time this new edition took place a the five star stable of Belgium's leading female showjumper, Gudrun Patteet and Alain Cloet's Sea Coast Stables.
There was a lot of international interest in the auction offering foals, embryos and youngsters. Some of the horses moved to Sweden, USA, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Slovenia ad Slovakia.
The night kicked-off with greeting of former board member and organiser, Hubert Hamerlinck. "It is time to pass on the tourch," stated Hamerlinck. "And I am impressed. Look at this catalogue and this amazing venue, this will be a splendid edition."
With these words the auction kicked off with number one, Kathmandu ES Z. A foal of Kashmir van Schuttershof x Kannan, changing owner for 14.000 euro. After this warm-up the second foal in the ring, Theresa Optima (Kannan x Arko III) immediately scored 20.000 euro. Theresa is the half sister of last week's CSI3* Youngster Tour winner in Lier.
The bidding war however started when the five-year-old Orchidee (Kannan x Lys de Darmen) entered. Showed with a lot of elegenace it was eventually a client from the USA who won and now ownes this amazing mare as the hammer bounced at 81.000 euro.
After the auction team smiled and looks back at a perfect first renewed edition with an average of over 19.000 euro for each sold horse.
