The Belgian Warmblood Foal Auction (BWFA), Belgium’s oldest auction house dedicated to elite showjumping foals and promising sport horses, proudly celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. To mark this milestone, the prestigious auction returns—for only the second time in its history—to the heart of Belgian equestrian tradition: the city of Waregem. On June 5th, Hippo Jump Waregem will set the stage for a landmark edition that honors both the legacy and the future of showjumping sport.
The decision to host the jubilee edition in Waregem—a city synonymous with equestrian excellence—is no coincidence. “It is an honor to celebrate our 25th edition at such a symbolic location. This marks a significant milestone not only for BWFA but for the entire Belgian showjumping community,” said the BWFA organizing committee.
Since its founding, BWFA has built a reputation for excellence by consistently prioritizing quality across both its collection and event organization. “Quality is who you are and what you do,” is the philosophy that guides every edition. Year after year, BWFA challenges itself to raise the bar, fostering long-term relationships with both breeders and buyers worldwide.
The foal selection reflects the evolving demands of top-level international sport, with a focus on genetics, conformation, and character—essential ingredients for producing future champions.
The BWFA’s track record speaks for itself, with alumni that have made their mark at the highest levels of competition:
– Halifax van het Kluizebos, named best showjumping horse in the world in 2017
– Action-Breaker, a top-level performer with Sergio Alvarez Moya
– Grand Prix winners including Bambino van ’t Zorgvliet, Carlitto van’t Zorgvliet, Garrincha Hedoniste, and Hamlet
– Prominent stallions like Million Dollar van het Schaeck and Luigi d’Eclipse
Top stables such as Ashford Farm, Jos Lansink, and the Holsteiner Verband are among the recurring buyers at BWFA auctions, a clear testament to the trust and respect the auction has earned globally.
The anniversary auction on June 5th promises to be a memorable evening where sport, breeding, and passion come together.
“We look forward to welcoming our guests to Waregem to celebrate 25 years of top-quality horses. More importantly, we remain committed to the future—continuing to uphold BWFA’s role as a seal of excellence in the international showjumping world.”
